Who we are looking for

Twelve functions a real airline has to stand up.

These are the postholder and leadership areas an EEA air operator has to fill with qualified, accountable people. If you have carried one of them before, or are ready to, we would like to know you are out there.

  1. Accountable management

    The accountable manager and the senior team that answers for the operation as a whole.

  2. Flight operations

    Running the flying: procedures, fleet, crews, dispatch and the flight operations post itself.

  3. Crew training

    Building and running training for flight and cabin crew from the first course onward.

  4. Ground operations

    Turnarounds, handling, load control and everything that happens between arrival and departure.

  5. Continuing airworthiness

    Keeping the aircraft airworthy: maintenance programmes, records, CAMO oversight.

  6. Safety

    The safety management system, reporting culture and the safety manager's post.

  7. Compliance monitoring

    Independent monitoring that the operation does what its approvals say it does.

  8. Security

    Aviation security programmes, training and the relationship with the authorities.

  9. Commercial leadership

    Network, revenue, distribution, brand and the partnerships that fill the aircraft.

  10. Financial leadership

    Financial control, funding, treasury and the fitness a regulator expects to see.

  11. Operational leadership

    Day-to-day operational control, disruption handling and the operations centre.

  12. EEA governance

    Board, ownership and control, and the governance an EEA operator must be able to show.
