Where Vandrer stands today
The journey of building an airline, kept current in plain words — what has been built so far, what is being validated, what is live today, and what comes next.

What has been built What does not exist yet
Illustrative imagery. Vandrer operates no flights and holds no aircraft.
Current phase
Prelaunch — listening, designing and assembling.
Vandrer is being developed from Oslo. Right now that means three things at once: listening to where people actually want to fly, designing the journey and the cabin around space rather than seat count, and assembling the operating platform, the people and the relationships an airline is made of — before any route, aircraft or date is decided.
Proof of work
What has been built
Vandrer's private operating platform is being built area by area. Six areas, each with where it stands today, what exists, and what is being validated or comes next. The pictures are simplified illustrations of the prototypes, not screens.

Passenger journey
Seat · baggage · connection · assistance · disruption
- What exists
- A working prototype follows one passenger from planning through the airport, the flight and arrival, and keeps seat, bag, assistance and connection together as one journey.
- What is being validated or comes next
- Being validated through internal simulations and the public demonstration on this site, which you can play through yourself.

Route intelligence
Network exploration · route scenarios · destination signals
- What exists
- A working prototype for route and scenario planning, with aircraft planning alongside it: which places from Oslo deserve study, and what a season, a stop or a different aircraft would change.
- What is being validated or comes next
- Route-signal handling is being validated with the real interest gathered through Route Lab, which is live.

Operations control
Operational scenarios · disruption handling · recovery planning
- What exists
- A working prototype of the day-of-operations view: every flight of a fictional day on one screen, and when one slips, the ways of handling it laid out side by side with what each would mean for passengers.
- What is being validated or comes next
- Exercised in internal simulations of ordinary and disrupted days.

Crew and ground coordination
Crew planning concepts · operational coordination
- What exists
- A working prototype for crew planning: who is where on a fictional day, and what a change to one flight means for the people working it.
- What is being validated or comes next
- Ground coordination — turnarounds, stands and the hand-offs around the aircraft — is in development.
-

Cabin and service design
Cabin philosophy · light · space · storage · service
- What exists
- The cabin concept — space rather than seat count — is public, with the service ideas that go with it.
- What is being validated or comes next
- The concept is being worked into a cabin and service design that can be checked against real aircraft data.

Communications and disruption care
Connecting operational and passenger information around the same journey
- What exists
- Working prototypes for branded passenger messages and for disruption care and re-accommodation. The messages are live on this site: ask for a demonstration journey by email and they arrive in your inbox.
- What is being validated or comes next
- The care sequences — what you are told, when, and what choices you get — are being validated in internal simulations.
What the labels mean
- Built prototype
- Working software exists in Vandrer's private operating platform and can be shown with fictional data.
- Being validated
- Exercised through internal simulations, and where possible through a public demonstration on this site.
- In development
- Being designed and built now.
- Next
- Planned; work has not started.
Live now
Working today, open to anyone.
- Global Route LabLeave a verified expression of travel interest for any destination in the catalogue.
- Passenger-experience demonstrationsFictional journeys you can play through: a delay, a cancellation, a missed connection, a bag that arrives late — and how Vandrer would guide you.
- Future-origin suggestionsTell us which other European cities people would want to fly from one day.
- Field NotesAn occasional, confirmed-opt-in note on what is actually being built.
- Founding Circle interestFree, early interest in indicative bands — a first circle around the idea.
- Company enquiriesAirports, destinations, hospitality, cargo, technology, media and aviation suppliers can start a conversation.
- Future leadership expressionsQualified aviation professionals can tell us they are out there, for the team that comes later.
Working on now
Reading the first verified travel interest from Route Lab and shaping the destination catalogue around it.
Developing Vandrer's private operating platform, and using internal simulations to explore the passenger journey — what you are told, when, and what choices you get when a day goes wrong.
Designing the cabin around space rather than seat count, and checking that concept against real aircraft data.
Listening for the people and organisations who want to be part of the beginning — founding members, future postholders, and the companies that equip an expedition.
Next stages
In order, each depending on the one before. None has a date, and none is promised.
Build verified demand.
Assemble aviation leadership.
Develop company and institutional relationships.
Validate the commercial model.
Prepare the corporate and regulatory programme.
Interest bands
Individual signals are always private. Interest is only ever published as broad bands once there is enough of it to be safe.
Interest is published as broad, privacy-safe bands — new signal, gathering interest, strong interest — once there is enough of it. Nothing is shown until then.
Latest Field Note
Oslo is the starting point — not the limit
Information
What we changed, and when
A site that asks to be believed has to show its own edits. Every entry below is a change to what this site said, with the date it was made.
-
The legal pages asked readers to write to an address we could not confirm was monitored. They now give info@flyvandrer.com, which is. The explicit statements about the operating licence, employees, partnerships, funding and a launch date were restored to this page after a redesign dropped them.
-
The persistent bar at the top of every page was replaced by a shorter prelaunch mark linking here, and by the full statement in the footer. The wording became plainer; nothing it claimed was withdrawn.
-
The first prelaunch page was published. It is preserved unchanged at /archive/prelaunch-2026-08/ rather than deleted, so anything said then can still be read.
Not offered
What does not exist yet
The claims worth checking, stated so that silence can never be mistaken for an answer. Each is also on the press fact sheet.
- Operating licence
- None. No air operator certificate or operating licence has been applied for or granted.
- People
- One: the founder. Vandrer has no employees, and no role has been appointed or offered.
- Partnerships
